 Answer - 67 students playing violin, viola, cello and bass!

 Yes, the orchestra class of 2008 has 67 members. This is by far the largest 5th grade class ever. BASS welcomes the students and their parents.   

The fifth grade students have been busy learning new skills. So far they have learned how to hold the instrument, how to do pizzicato (pluck the string) and arco (use the bow), have worked on the professional way to count rhythms, and have learned various songs including Mary Had a Little Lamb, Hot Cross Buns, London Bridge, Rueben and Rachel, Twinkle Twinkle and French Folk Song. On December 6 they will present their first concert at the Ashton Middle School.
