In Case You Haven’t Heard

The annual candy sale is in progress! This is our largest fundraiser of the year and we hope all orchestra families will participate. The profits help fund various events and classroom purchases throughout the year.  During the past years our fundraising efforts have resulted in many events, including a fieldtrip to a Columbus Symphony concert for the Middle School and Junior High orchestra students, the annual hayride, ice skating party, Spring picnic, and the Awards night. The funds have also been used for the purchase of a computer, a stereo system, and a Yamaha Clavinova piano for each school. Each school also benefits from the compact disc recordings and videotapes that are purchased for our listening library. Our candy sale profits fund many of the day-to-day necessities used in teaching orchestra students. We hope all families will support this endeavor, since all students benefit directly from the monies earned.

Unfortunately, we had some problems last year.  Undelivered candy and candy damaged by heat reduce our profits and the awards we are able to provide our students.   We ask parents to help insure that the candy sold by their students is delivered and that care be taken not to allow the candy to be left in vehicles where the heat will spoil the candy.
