Moses Carreker

On January 28 the Middle School orchestra students and bass players in the district had the privilege of having a professional musician speak to them. Moses Carreker, a bass player, presented a mini-clinic. Mr. Carreker talked about his childhood and young adult life. In addition to being a bassist, he was a tuba player who had the honor of dotting the “i” in the Ohio State University Marching Band’s Script Ohio. Mr. Carreker is also a marathon runner!

After the presentation, Mr. Carreker had a master class with all our bass players. It was great seeing 16 bass players in one room. He worked on the importance of the left hand position and right hand bow hold. Tone production and intonation were also stressed.

This in-school fieldtrip was a wonderful learning opportunity for our students. Thank you to BASS for the financial backing needed for this presentation.
