RHS ORCHESTRA TOUR
Excitement filled the air on April 20th. It was elementary tour day for the High School Orchestra. What a busy day! The orchestra performed for students at Taylor Road, Rose Hill and French Run Elementary Schools. Approximately 1300 students enjoyed the Pink Panther, Cruella de Vil, Serendipity Suite, The Gift, Alexander’s Ragtime Band, The Dance of Iscariot and Square Dance. The violin, viola, cello and bass were introduced to the students in the audience. The highlight of the performance was when the high school students stood, kneeled or sat amongst the elementary students while playing Square Dance. The look of awe and wonderment were on the faces of many young children while they saw a string instrument up- close for the first time.

Tour day was a busy and draining day. After two morning concerts at two schools the orchestra headed for lunch. Thanks to BASS, the high school students enjoyed lunch at the Hometown Buffet. After the students were again energized, they performed their third concert of the day and then headed back to the high school. This was a great public relations day and an educational experience for both young and old.
