THE TRADITION CONTINUES!

The Reynoldsburg and Gahanna string orchestra programs will present their ninth biennial combined Orchestra Concert on November 18, 1999 at 7:30 p.m. This musical presentation will be held at the Gahanna Lincoln High School Auditorium (140 S. Hamilton Road).

When this concert project was first undertaken eighteen years ago, the music directors for the two neighboring school districts had several goals in mind: first, to reinforce the belief that students do not always need to compete to achieve success; second, to provide an enriching educational experience through the sharing of musical ideas, techniques and interpretations; third, to offer students the opportunity to play with a large string orchestra under the direction of various directors; and last, to present a high caliber public concert featuring the combined talents of two of central Ohio's finest string music groups. We are proud to report that what began as an educational experiment has proven to be a rousing academic success, entertaining to the community, and fun for the student musician.

All Reynoldsburg orchestra families are cordially invited to attend this year's concert featuring students in grades six through twelve. We guarantee to not only tickle your musical ear, but also to expose you to an educational experience from which the students will learn more than just staying in tune.

The directors are:

Miss Patricia McKown, Gahanna
Mr. Mark Kinser, Gahanna
Mrs. Lori Gaulke, Reynoldsburg
Mrs. Marie Smith, Reynoldsburg
